The Effect of Innovative Gel in the Prevention and Treatment of Striae (StrataMark Gel)¹⁸

A study in Europe was conducted to evaluate the clinical efficacy of StrataMark for the prevention and treatment of Striae Distensae. A total of 303 patients were split into 2 arms and evaluated by 61 obstetricians.

Prevention arm

Results — prevention arm

Prevalence of Striae. Control group: 61%. StrataMark as monotherapy: 18.2%. p < 0.001.

StrataMark as monotherapy. Striae developed: 18.2%; No Striae developed: 81.8%. Mild Striae: 52%; Mild-moderate Striae: 33%; Moderate Striae: 11%; Moderate-severe Striae: 4%; Severe or very severe Striae: 0%

The reported prevalence of Striae ranges between 50–90%, with most control groups showing between 60% and 70% developed during pregnancy, depending on the population studied.¹

Results — treatment arm

Severity of Striae: Before treatment 3.5 ± 1.62; After treatment 1.84 ± 1.1. −47%, p < 0.001. Severity of Striae rated from 1 to 7.

Subgroup analysis: Treatment during pregnancy (n=69); Treatment after delivery (n=72); Old Striae (>90 days) (n=14); Severe Striae (n=60). p < 0.001 for all subgroups.

88%: Reported improvement in color; 86%: Reported reduction in visibility; 83%: Reported reduction in pruritus.

The use of an innovative film-forming gel in preventing Striae Gravidarum and treating Striae Distensae¹⁹

In a multicenter study in Australia, a total of 272 patients were analyzed in the use of StrataMark in preventing and treating stretch marks.

n=133 Post-partum women with stretch marks from any cause
